What makes Edge + Aura different from a traditional salon?
Edge + Aura combines the privacy of a salon suite with the openness and character of a larger studio space. The 500 sq ft industrial loft-inspired studio features high ceilings, large windows, natural light, and a calmer two-chair setup designed to feel spacious, comfortable, and low-pressure without the chaos of a traditional salon environment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No—Edge + Aura is an appointment-only experience. This allows for a private, one-on-one environment without walk-ins, wait times, or interruptions—so your service stays focused, relaxed, and fully tailored to you.
What products do you use?
We are constantly testing the latest products and technologies in the professional beauty industry. However, anything we use in the studio must first meet our internal standards for performance, safety, and long-term hair health.
Most products used at Edge + Aura are gluten-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, sodium chloride-free, and cruelty-free. We prioritize formulas that are color-safe, smoothing-treatment-safe, and extension-safe, and that rinse cleanly without causing buildup.
These standards also make the products naturally better suited for guests with sensitive skin or scalps. Please let us know about any concerns or restrictions prior to your appointment so we can accommodate you whenever possible.
Do you offer express or lower-maintenance services?
Yes. Lower-maintenance results are created through intentional color and styling designed to grow out with less upkeep. Express service options include 9-minute processing color, dry cuts, and a blowdry/self-styling bar where guests can either leave with damp hair or finish styling themselves in the salon to save time and reduce cost.
How long do appointments usually take?
All appointments are essentially time reservations, and service durations are listed during online booking. If a desired result requires more time than the appointment allows (such as certain color services), we will complete as much as the scheduled time allows and plan additional sessions as needed.
What should I do before my appointment?
Preparation depends on the type of service you’re receiving. Some services, such as dry cuts and certain styling appointments, require clean, dry hair.
For color services, we generally recommend not shampooing for about 24 hours before your appointment, as this can help reduce scalp sensitivity. However, this is not mandatory.
Keep in mind that hair that is excessively dirty or has significant product buildup can sometimes be more resistant to color, which may affect processing and results.
Please avoid wearing hoodies, tall collars, scarves, or any clothing that creates bulk around the neck and shoulders, as this can interfere with cutting, coloring, and extension placement. Comfortable, low-profile clothing is best for your appointment.
Photos of inspiration images are always helpful, especially for color and extension appointments.
What if I'm running late?
If you're running late, please text as soon as possible. A 15-minute grace period is provided. After that, your appointment may be considered missed, or adjusted to maintain the flow of the day. Late arrivals may result in a shortened service or rescheduling.
